With all the AI tools popping up these days, I figured I'd try out some speech-to-text software in an attempt to boost my productivity. I've been hearing a lot about βdeveloping at the speed of thoughtβ, so here's a list of the top speech-to-text software options I found on the market in 2025.

Full transparency, Superwhisper is my voice dictation tool of choice. I started with a trial and ended up buying the lifetime version. Admittedly, the UI can be a bit unintuitive at first, but once you get the hang of things, it's really cool to see how much you can tailor Superwhisper to meet your needs. As a developer and tinkerer, I'm really enjoying the different workflows that I'm coming up with.
